Whitechapel and Bethnal Green are great options for buyers in 2019

Find out more

With a new year ahead of us, our estate agents in Canary Wharf have taken a look at a couple of great areas around East London to purchase a new home in 2019.

Crossrail Station gives Whitechapel property market another boost

Both areas are just a short hop to the financial district making them the perfect place to live if you work in Canary Wharf.

London E1 is where east meets central and the addition of a Crossrail station is a huge bonus. It gives buyers the perfect opportunity to own in Zone 1 and have great transport throughout the city.

Whitechapel has become a sought-after place to live. The area is vibrant and full of culture. It has a fantastic art scene and is steeped in history with some inspiring architecture in its midst. The streets are literally lined with culinary delights in all forms and there is a great atmosphere about the place. No wonder it is such a popular place to live.

There are some great schools in the locality making it popular with families and further investment over the coming years will bring the area to it’s full potential. According to Tower Hamlets council, Whitechapel has the potential for the development of 3,500 new homes over the coming years.

With a selection of apartments for sale in E1, 2019 will be a great year to buy here as it is still one of the more affordable central London locations.

Bethnal Green offers buyers both new properties and period homes

New properties are popping up in Bethnal Green alongside some very fine period homes so it has something to suit every taste. The area is renowned for it’s creative and cultural side.

It is one of few remaining authentic East End locations but it is also keeping up with the times and giving it’s locals the amenities they deserve to thrive and flourish. With new cafes and business opportunities opening in the neighbourhood it has had a fresh lease of life.

The area is well connected to all parts of the city making it a great choice for commuters. The redevelopment of the London Chest Hospital will bring more opportunities here with a restoration of the main building and some lovely community spaces alongside some impressive new homes which will include 35% affordable housing. Bethnal Green really is worth considering for your next purchase.
