  • Free theatre, music and dance events throughout the summer holidays in E14
  • Community events are part of Canary Wharf, with regular outdoor concerts and exhibitions throughout the year, making E14 one of the best places to live in London

The Family Summer Festival is a great example of the community events organised by Canary Wharf and just one of the reasons why E14 is one of the best places to live in London.  Canary Wharf’s own investment in the area means that there’s always something going on, whether it’s news and sport on the big screens at Cabot Square and Canada Square Park, or a free outdoor concert as part of the area’s Lunchtime Classicals series.

Family Summer Festival for Canary Wharf residents

The Festival offers families a range of imaginative, high-quality performances from some of London’s finest arts companies.

Canary Wharf’s Family Summer Festival is a fun, free summer celebration of outdoor music, dance, song and theatre performances, all carefully selected with parents and children in mind. Events are held at different open spaces in Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs throughout the school summer holidays, and offer families an eclectic range of imaginative, high-quality performances from some of London’s finest arts companies.

Whether you live in east London or you’re just visiting, the events at the Family Summer Festival are well worth popping along to. Highlights at Canada Square Park include live music from the Royal Albert Hall’s Albert Band on 6 August, dancing from students of the Studio Chislehurst and an exciting interpretation of The Wind in the Willows by Boxtree Productions on 30 July. There’s also a live, outdoor performance of Roald Dahl’s Danny the Champion of the World at Jubilee Park on 31 July. Visit the website for full details – all events are free!

Canary Wharf – a great place to live

Our estate agents at Henry Wiltshire Canary Wharf say, “There’s so much going on in this part of London, it’s easy to see why there’s so much interest in the area. From free events organised by the Canary Wharf Group to all the fantastic shops and restaurants, people buying apartments in E14 have so much to enjoy. The Family Summer Festival really shows that Docklands isn’t just about commerce; it’s about the people who live here.

This vibrant area is well connected to the rest of the capital by the underground and DLR, while London City Airport really simplifies international travel.  Greenwich is just a stone’s throw away, with attractions ranging from the National Maritime Museum to the O2 (formerly the Millennium Dome), while the beautifully-landscaped Thames Barrier Park provides some valuable green space.

Canary Wharf’s Family Summer Festival has a great range of arts and music events – go along and get involved.
