It’s positive news for buyers who are thinking of buying this year in areas that have a lot of ongoing regeneration. East London is a big part of that, and our estate agents in Royal Docks have taken a look at some of the areas where new homes will be available soon.

Affordable property for first-time buyers in Poplar

Billions of pounds are transforming the area into a ‘Poplar’ place to live.

Offering affordable property just a stone’s throw from Canary Wharf, Poplar is certain to become a prosperous place to buy a new home.

‘The ugly duckling of east London’ is transforming into its swan as billions of pounds will be poured into redevelopment projects in the area over the coming years. With lots of properties being developed into affordable new homes for the community as well as schools, shops, parks and other amenities, Poplar is a great location for first-time buyers to make a long-term investment.

New home developments to bring “mini Manhattan” to Barking

This area is soon to become the city’s latest regeneration success. It has been tipped to receive a massive upgrade which will be not unlike Manhattan.

Barking town centre is to have thousands of new high rise homes and a regenerated shopping centre and station. Additionally there will be a central park for recreational purposes. It is hoped that this new lease of life will turn this slightly tired part of London into a flourishing area. There will be an improvement in transport links to the area bring more people in and out. The council hope to offer more affordable homes to people wishing to make a purchase.

Barking itself has already had a facelift of late. Barking and Dagenham have recently spent over £3 million pounds upgrading signs and shopfronts. Both of these give the town a new smarter look. Barking Riverside is another huge development where over 10,000 homes are being built. The site will also house a new primary school, a cinema and a hotel.

New homes for buyers in East Ham

Over the next five years hundreds of millions of pounds will be poured into this well-connected and fantastic-value neighbourhood. Thus creating many new homes for first timers, other buyers and renters. This will augment its still-affordable period housing stock.

Along with new homes, East Ham will get new cafés, shops, and restaurants. The redevelopment of it’s town centre will include over 20,000 sq ft of retail space alongside public spaces, courtyards and rooftop gardens. This area will be brought right up to trend and have all the amenities needed and desired by residents to give a thriving sense of community to live and work in.
